The 2010 International Rotaract pre-convention held in Montreal June 18, 19 was truly a memorable event. The location of the event was conveniently situated by the bustling St. Laurent blvd, which allowed us to submerge ourselves in Montreal’s culture, food and nightlife!! 16 members from the Rotaract Club of Toronto took part in this event and spent the weekend mingling with Rotaractors from around the world. The pre-conference and the breakout sessions were intuitive and and eye opener to greater possibilities. Rotary International’s president, John Kenny conveyed an important message that “the future of Rotary is in your hands” and awarded the deserving international project winners! To sum it all, it was a great time with great friends! We look forward to the 2011 convention in New Orleans ya'll!

On May 15, Sarah, Kevin, and Dana attended Camp Enterprise, an annual camp for high-school students sponsored by Rotarians. The delegates of the Rotaract Club of Toronto answered students’ questions regarding Rotaract and Rotary via an interactive game similar in nature to “Who wants to be a millionaire”.
This was a fun event for Rotaractors and students alike. We’ll be there next year, for sure!!!

In light of the devastating earthquake in Haiti, the Rotaract Club of Toronto wanted to help the victims of the aftermath. As such, the club donated $600.00 on April 27, 2010 to ShelterBox Canada, an organization which purchases shelter boxes to aid those in catastrophic situations.
A shelter box is a box of disaster relief supplies designed to help an extended family of up to 10 people survive a disaster for at least 6 months. For more information on ShelterBox visit www.shelterbox.org.
