Vashti Jaikaran, President

Vashti Jaikaran took on the role of Club Services Director in June 2009. Community service has always been a priority in her life and in the past was a member and President of the UNICEF Club at McMaster University. After graduating, she has also volunteered at the Yonge Street Mission and the City of Toronto Library Learning to Read program. She is very excited to continue work on increasing the membership of the Club.

Chialing Ku, Vice President

Chialing joined Rotaract Club of Toronto in 2009. She has participated in various Rotary events and is an active volunteer for many charities in the GTA.

Joining Rotaract has given her opportunities to work and socialize with other young professionals by carrying out different charitable initiatives for worthy causes locally and internationally.

Chialing believes that service is a privilege, and Rotaract makes a difference by renewing humanity.

Waruna Kulawansha, Professional Development Director

Waruna Kulawansha joined the organization in 1996 as an Interactor of St. Thomas' College Matale, in Sri Lanka and found his way up as a Rotaract President and The Professional Development Director of the Sri Lankan Rotaract Committee. Waruna also received the International Rotary Youth Leadership Award in 2007 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

After relocating, Waruna joined the Rotaract Club of Toronto in 2009, and decided to continue his service to the community by volunteering his time and effort under the main theme of Rotary, "Service Above Self".

Maria Shibaeva, Club Service Director

Maria joined the Rotaract Club of Toronto in 2008. She is currently the Director of Community Service. She was drawn to Rotaract as it brings together a great group of people, working together on common goals, while having fun and helping the community.

Lavinia Popinceanu, Past President

Lavinia first joined Rotaract District 2241 in 2002 and was immediately drawn to its global reach, cultural wealth and variety of projects entertained.

After relocating to Toronto she was looking into continuing her contribution to Rotaract's legacy and meeting young professionals with similar interests. The Rotaract Club of Toronto provided the ideal platform: not only did she participate in projects which made a difference locally and internationally, but gained real friends in the process.
