2010 Rotary International Preconvention Montreal

The 2010 International Rotaract pre-convention held in Montreal June 18, 19 was truly a memorable event. The location of the event was conveniently situated by the bustling St. Laurent blvd, which allowed us to submerge ourselves in Montreal’s culture, food and nightlife!! 16 members from the Rotaract Club of Toronto took part in this event and spent the weekend mingling with Rotaractors from around the world. The pre-conference and the breakout sessions were intuitive and and eye opener to greater possibilities. Rotary International’s president, John Kenny conveyed an important message that “the future of Rotary is in your hands” and awarded the deserving international project winners! To sum it all, it was a great time with great friends! We look forward to the 2011 convention in New Orleans ya'll!

Camp Scugog Weekend 2010

From Friday, May 28th to Sunday, May 30th, 2010 Kevin and Anna K. participated in restoration of Camp Scugog, an annual project organized by the Rotary Club of Toronto.

Camp Scugog is a summer camp for underprivileged children and disadvantaged families, who attend the camp over summer to experience nature, friendship and community. To provide its campers with this valuable experience and safe environment, every season Camp Scugog is in need of site and facility upgrades.

Camp Enterprise 2010

On May 15, Sarah, Kevin, and Dana attended Camp Enterprise, an annual camp for high-school students sponsored by Rotarians. The delegates of the Rotaract Club of Toronto answered students’ questions regarding Rotaract and Rotary via an interactive game similar in nature to “Who wants to be a millionaire”.

This was a fun event for Rotaractors and students alike. We’ll be there next year, for sure!!!
