PROJECT UPDATES
International
- International Recipe Calendar – tally, funds, donation, prize, international versions by May 3rd final deadline – Lavinia;
- Run for Water – the event was cancelled;
- Tapped – will take place at Innis Town Hall on May 26th;

Club Service
- Montreal Pre-Convention – 13 participants so far; transportation and events to be booked and paid separately by members; everyone is responsible to get their own ride - ViaRail has a 60% off promo until April 26th;
- Rally – Maria and Vashti are leading the project to be held on Saturday, July 17th; details to follow; Liz G. will help; Liz R to send info from movie rally;

Community Service
- Trump AIDS Poker Walk – $1000 raised for HIV/Aids, to determine where to send funds (ie. sponsor another Rotaract club’s efforts or promote awareness);
- ROM and Second Harvest event on June 13th from 4:00PM to 10:00 PM; alternatively members can volunteer at "It's Cool To Be Me 5K" by confirming with Amber;

Professional Development
- Speakers’ series – upcoming guest speakers;
- Mentorship Program –Rotary E-Mentoring; Waruna sent an email; Alix signed up for the program;

Treasurer Business
- $1,500 donation to the Toronto Daily Bread Food Bank – has been done at today’s meeting;
- Collect membership fee – deadline was April 30th;

OTHER
- Inductions: Svenja & Kinga;
- Elections 2010-11 – nominees & next steps;
- Club logo and business cards – update & deadline;
- Camp Scugog 2010 – cost $80/person; check the Google group for more information;
- Camp Enterprise – Saturday May 15th;
- Newsletter & final BoD meeting;
- Write ups: Texas Hold’em - Brad; Trivia Night - Brad; Clothing Drive pics - Alix; Micro credit – Sarah; Fast Lane in the Community – Liz G.; Run for Water ?; Rotary Youth Leadership Awards – Liz G.; GSE Team 2010 - Lavinia; Haiti ShelterBox - Andrei; Trump AIDS Poker Walk;

TODAY’S SPEAKER

Gail Nyberg, Executive Director at Daily Bread Food Bank
- The food bank accepts volunteers to sort food Mon-Fri. In addition, you can help out at peak times Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving.
- There is also a 24 hour food sort, where each teams pays $500 to sort food, it is a competition.
- The food bank receives 85,000 visits/month.
- The food bank has an $8 million budget.
- The food bank provides food to 171 member agencies.
- The food bank is a 107,000 square foot building.
- Goal: To go out of business. Make Toronto the place where people do not need food banks.
