PROJECT UPDATES
General
- Transfer of information/notes/contacts etc
- Lavinia to send calendar format for all important dates to Vashti
- Training available for directors (info obtained from Rotaract Pre-convention) – Vashti to send to new board members and add to agenda on next board meeting.
- Aug 9 – board to meet earlier
- Aiming for 12 events for the year.
- Lavinia to send Vashti the survey to find out what people are interested in
- Listserve – idea is to get rid of it and transfer people to google group - Bradley
- Update of website:
- Lavinia has emailed colin to transfer admin rights.
- Lavinia will update the new 2010 Board, send updated bios/pic.
Treasury - Andrei
- Consolidation of 1993 and 1998 accounts
- Prefer having budgets on projects in advance
- Log to track all expenses by project
- Vashti to contact Jason regarding $1500 for Rotaract pre-conf
International - Netila
- Possible have 1 main project which drives the theme for the year.
- Ideas: sweat equity, habitat, oil spil, among other inter’l projects.
- Have 2/3 options by next meeting, with budgets, time, info.
- Chialing to help with International where needed
- “twining” – working with other clubs to share culture, send post cards
- Netila to talk to Sarah regarding twin clubs
Club Service - Maria
- Club Rally 2010 – to be re-scheduled to October
- Ideas: charity networking, Maria to hold trivia night, festivus, changeover.
- Start a guestbook by next meeting. Info to transfer to database after.
Community Service - Svenja
- Past events: trick or tea, clothing drive, xmas party, earth day tree planting etc
- Ideas: wheelchair, milliondollarsmiles project
- Look into volunteertoronto.com, charityvillage.com
Professional Development
- Maria to forward Waruna contact for Yonge st mission
- Idea: to work with uoft on being a mentor for 1 hour sessions. However, group suggested this can be achieved via a networking event. More details to follow.
OTHER
- Death by chocolate idea or “Til chocolate do us apare” to be held as fundraising event prior to Valentines
